The Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group has presented its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting its most significant achievements, to its community.

Tecnológico de Monterrey and Tecmilenio universities, as well as the TecSalud hospital group and academic health center, are part of the Education Group.

The Education Group was formally established in 2025. 

“Today, our work extends beyond the classroom to make an impact in research, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and innovation”, said David Garza, the group’s Executive President, as he presented the report.

“With milestones such as the use of AI in education. the promotion of innovation districts, highly complex medical procedures, innovative educational models, and lifelong learning, to name but a few, we demonstrate that our driving force is people’s wellbeing”, he added.

About the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group

In 2025, the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group was established, bringing together Tecnológico de Monterrey, Tecmilenio, and TecSalud.

According to the report, the group’s mission is to “transform the lives of people and communities through education”.

The document adds that the group’s structure was designed to serve as an integrated platform which allows each institution to develop its own identity while generating synergies to expand the reach and impact of its initiatives.

Highlights of Tec de Monterrey, Tecmilenio, and TecSalud in 2025

The group’s annual report was presented last month to the group’s board members at the National Board Meeting held in Mexico City. 

This report, which can be viewed online herehighlights the achievements and key aspects of each institution.

Tec de Monterrey

1. Integration of Artificial Intelligence into education: The Tec implemented the “TecGPT” ecosystem and the Intelligent Faculty Support System (SIAF) to enhance both student learning and teaching.

2. Recognition in international rankings: It remained the top private university in Mexico and ranked among the world’s top 200 overall, coming in at number 187 in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.

3. Comprehensive education: In 2025, the Tec had 88,000 students (including undergraduate, high school, and graduate students) and 142,000 continuing education learners.

4. Update to the Educational Model: The update to the “2026 Syllabuses” for professional programs has been completed. These incorporate the ethical use of AI and a focus on sustainability across all disciplines.

5. Internationalization: In 2025, 67% of undergraduate graduates and 52% of high school graduates had an international educational experience during their studies.

6. Promoting Entrepreneurship: Through the Eugenio Garza Lagüera Institute of Entrepreneurship, it assisted 1,143 startups and supported the creation of 392 new companies.

7. Full Scholarships and Social Inclusion: The 12th class of the Leaders of Tomorrow program welcomed 200 new students with full scholarships, bringing the current total number of active students in this social mobility program to 951.

8. Faculty with international experience: The university hired 182 new full-time faculty members and attracted global leaders through the Faculty of Excellence initiative.

9. Infrastructure for Innovation: The “Expedition FEMSA” building (opened in December 2024) was launched on the Monterrey campus, serving as a central hub for applied research and scientific collaboration that was fully utilized throughout 2025.

10. Climate Action (Blue Route): The Tec achieved a 66% share of electricity from renewable sources and reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 32% compared to the 2019 baseline.

1. High employability: 9 out of 10 graduates find employment before graduating through the MAPS Educational Model, and the institution has been awarded the international “Label of Excellence in Employability.”

2. MAPS Model: This educational model was implemented nationwide. Its key features are that it is modular, stackable, and customizable, allowing students to tailor their learning path to their professional goals.

3. Co-creation with the private sector: Tecmilenio developed 19 training programs designed in direct collaboration with leading companies such as Banorte, Heineken, and BBVA.

4. Work-Integrated Learning (FIT): This program consolidated a model that connects the classroom with real-world practice through internships and business challenges.

5. Focus on Life Purpose: The program incorporated life purpose as a central element of the curriculum, supported by the AI-powered app “My Purpose” to help students gain self-awareness.

6. Skilling Center: This continuing education platform served more than 80,000 learners and established partnerships with 225 companies to foster talent development.

7. Presence and Scale: In 2025, it had a community of 66,025 students across 32 campuses and Connect spaces throughout Mexico.

8. Global Partnerships: Tecmilenio strengthened its relationship with Arizona State University (ASU) and launched an international dual-degree master’s program in partnership with the University of Lima.

9. Holistic Wellbeing: It organized the “Wellbeing 360” event and launched the gamified “Connect Challenge” program to strengthen student support and wellbeing.

10. Impact Through Generosity: The “Scholarships with a Purpose” program, funded by donations, provided 200 new active students with full scholarships covering 100% of their tuition.

 

Tecmilenio has 32 campuses, 66,000 students (including high school, graduate, and undergraduate students), and 80,000 learners at the Skilling Center.

1. Scope of Medical Care: The hospital provided more than 321,000 doctor’s visits, treated more than 72,000 patients, and performed more than 8,800 surgeries during the year, reaffirming its clinical and service capabilities.

2. Consolidation as an Academic Health Center: TecSalud made progress in its model that integrates medical care, education, and research, establishing itself as a leader in Latin America.

3. Highly Specialized Institutes: The Institutes of Oncology and Surgery at Zambrano Hellión Hospital were inaugurated in Nuevo León, offering comprehensive care and advanced technology in critical subspecialties.

4. Unique Technological Innovation: It was the first center in Mexico to offer “Focused Ultrasound – Exablate” therapy for Parkinson’s disease and performed the first robotic heart surgery.

5. Genomic Research (oriGen): It achieved its goal of 100,000 participants in its biobank project, which focused on precision medicine for the Latino population.

6. Excellence in education: Health sciences students achieved a 98% pass rate on the CENEVAL exam, and their campuses ranked among the top four in the country on the ENARM survey.

7. Research partnerships: The OriGen Health Research Center was established in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin, and the Eva and José Antonio Fernández Carbajal Research Center was established in partnership with the Fernández Vega University Institute. An agreement was also signed with Biocrine and Spiber Technologies for regenerative medicine, as well as another with the Karolinska Institute for collaborative research. 

8. Hospital rankings: Zambrano Hellión Hospital and San José Hospital (which merged with Zambrano in October) were ranked among the best in Mexico by Newsweek and the IntelLat rankings.

9. Social Commitment and Foundation: The TecSalud Foundation provided free medical care to 34,376 vulnerable individuals and celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Comprehensive Health Center.

10. Health Sciences Campus Project: Progress was made on the construction of this new campus (located next to Zambrano Hellion Hospital), which will feature state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories.

 

Through the TecSalud Foundation, more than 34,000 patients were treated.
